Our Team

John Kaywood

Executive Director

John Kaywood has been involved in the world of theatre since 2009 starting in a high school (Sullivan South High School) production of Aladdin. Since then John has done most theatrical jobs possible in a lot of different locations. These positions include Lighting Designer, Assistant Stage Manager, Stage Manager, Assistant Director, Actor, Director, House Manager, Dancer, and now Executive Director. He has worked in over 115 productions including two of the nation’s outdoor dramas (Horn in the West and Trail of the Lonesome Pine) and served as a Venue Director for the New York City International Fringe Festival and Logistics Stage Manager for The Fresh Fruit Festival in New York City, both in 2015. Hailing from Kingsport, Tennessee, Kingsport Theatre Guild means so much to him in his heart. He also worked at several theaters in the region such as: Theatre Bristol, Jonesborough Repertory Theatre, Johnson City Community Theatre, and Two Pence Productions.

Caitlyn Morelock

Production Liaison

Caitlyn Morelock has spent many years in the theatre, both on stage and behind the curtain. She has most recently worked as stage manager and assistant director for a variety of shows, including Little Shop of Horrors, Boeing, Boeing and A Christmas Cabaret. She has a great passion for the theatre and brings her enthusiasm to every show in which she is involved.

Maxine Poole

Media Specialist

Maxine Poole is a graduate of  Emory & Henry College, where she received her B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. As media specialist, Maxine helps Kingsport Theatre Guild to reach new audiences through social media, website management, online promotion and more. She is also an actress and has appeared in many productions. Some of her favorite roles include Maureen (RENT ), Marlene (Top Girls), Eva (Kindertransport), Blanche (A Streetcar Named Desire) and Gretchen (Boeing, Boeing). Rebecca Nelson

Advertising Materialist

Rebecca Nelson graduated from ETSU with a degree in Digital Media. She and her husband run their own graphic design business called Creative Cat Graphics. She is thrilled to have found a place in the Kingsport Theatre Guild family both as an actress and a member of the Creative Team where she helps to reach new audiences through graphic design, photography, and videography. She hopes to see audiences both new and old enjoy this theatre as much as she does.

Georgia Gross

Musical Consultation

Georgia is originally from Knoxville, TN, where her mom put the love of musical theatre in her from a very young age. She went to Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN, where she studied Music Education and specialized in Classical Voice. During her time in Cookeville, she worked for Cookeville’s only professional symphony, The Bryan Symphony Orchestra, as a stage manager, research intern, and eventually Assistant Director of Operations. She is currently studying to receive her Masters in Music Education with a focus in the Kodály method through Colorado State University in December 2023. She absolutely fell in love with KTG during the 2022 season with Little Shop of Horrors (Urchin), Rent (Joanne Jefferson), and recently made her musical directorial debut with White Christmas. She is excited to continue pursuing music through theatre.

Emily Strong

Dance Consultation/Wig Specialist

Milly is from Roanoke, Virginia, where she has been involved with theatre and dance since 2012. In that time, she has studied at Burton Center for Performing Arts and Art In Motion Dance Center, and has taken master classes from Matthew Glover (Cats US Tour) and Tony D’alelio (Cats, Matilda, Kinky Boots US Tours). Milly is extremely passionate about music and storytelling through movement, as well as education in foundation and fundamentals of dance. She has experience in ballet, jazz, musical theatre, and modern dance styles, but ballet is what brings her the most joy. Some of her favorite onstage roles include Judy (White Christmas), Mimi (RENT), and Cinderella (Cinderella).

Kaleb Miller

Interim Costume Management

Kaleb Miller is an undergraduate at ETSU and is studying Elementary Education. He has been involved in theatre for 8 years, on and off stage. He hopes to spark joy in peoples life through his passion of story telling. Some of his favorite roles include  Angel Dumott Shunard (RENT), Mike (White Christmas), Urchin (Little Shop of Horrors) and Lloyd Dallas (Noises Off).
